The Harsnett choir was formed in 1984 in the Chigwell, Essex, UK area, and is named after Samuel Harsnett (1561-1631) - one time vicar of the parish of Chigwell, later Bishop of Chichester, Bishop of Norwich and Archbishop of York.
During the year, the Choir usually sings two or three Choral Evensongs at Cathedrals or similar places.
We also have a Cathedral week in August visiting a different Cathedral each year. During this week, the Choir sings Evensong daily, starting on the Monday and continuing to the following Sunday, a day when all the services are sung.

INTERESTED IN JOINING US?
We are always keen to welcome new members.
Here is some further information you may find helpful.
Rehearsals
We rehearse only prior to each singing event, either on the day or shortly beforehand. Because of our limited rehearsal time, people who sing with us should have a reasonable ability in sightreading.
Rehearsals for the summer usually take place in Woodford, NE London, UK.
Membership
Choir members pay a modest annual subscription. A reduced rate is available for students. There are no charges made for the loan of the music, robes, etc, all of which are provided. Members pay their own accommodation charges for the summer week.
A Bursary Fund exists to give financial assistance where necessary.
